Flirty Fringe

I love makeup. I mean, obsessed with, always have to try the latest thing, big puffy heart love makeup. I have, at last count, five different foundations, more than 50 eye shadows, not to mention the bronzers, liners, lipsticks and glosses, brushes, and everything that goes along with makeup.

The one thing I cannot live without though, is mascara. I have probably 10 or 12 tubes in my drawer. If I don't have it, I bet you I've tried it. To me, there is nothing more flattering than a full dark fan of lashes. It's got to be black, the blacker the better. I don't know why brown mascara was even invented.

I've tried so many mascaras, I know which ones deliver and which ones don't. I also don't suffer the bad ones. If I try it and don't like it, it goes in the trash, without remorse.

So, here are my faves:
Diorshow Blackout: This mascara is so black, it makes lesser mascaras look gray. The brush is huge, so make sure you're careful with the application. It also doesn't dry very fast, so if you have long lashes or blink a lot, be still until it dries.

Benefit Bad Gal: Another huge brush, but dries quicker. Nice separation volume, and very few clumps. Another winner.

Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black: A great dense brush, not too big, and this creates a beautiful fan of lashes. Not bad for eight bucks.

Loreal Lash Architect in Blackest Black: The brush is the real winner here. It's twisted, so it really gets between the lashes to make them long and full. If you won't buy mascara at Sephora or a department store, this is the one for you.

So ladies (and you guys that dig mascara), make sure you toss your tube every three months, and bat those eyes fearlessly!

You crack me up. Back in high school I never thought you'd be writing about make-up! I am also a make-up junkie. What are your opinions on the mineral make-up? (Oh, and I use Maybelline Full & Soft--works great for my long lashes!)

I've used the maybelline before. I think they make pretty good mascaras (after all, they are owned by lancome, just like loreal). I hated their new define-a-lash though. The brush was flimsy and didn't work well at all.

Some mineral makeups I really like. I use Jane Iredale right now, and I love it. I've also tried the new Mary Kay minerals, and it's not bad. Not as pretty on as my JI, but still nice. My sister uses bare escentuals, and ironically enough, it's the one I don't really like. It turns Orange on my skin when it oxidizes. The only way I can keep it from turning is to wear a primer and the mineral veil UNDER the foundation. Then I still have to top it with a bit of the veil. I don't have that kind of time.

So, that was probably more than you wanted to know! Hope Gardner is treating you well. We thought about moving up to OP earlier this year, but it fell through.

I'm picky about my mascara because I hate it when I can feel my lashes. (make sense?) I've been using Sheer Cover and it's OK. Rachael got it for me, but she got me the medium and I think I need the light/fair. It does do a good job of covering my rosacea, but I also notice the orange if I don't get the colors mixed just right. We have an Ulta here and they carry another brand "Pure" which comes in a compact instead of the loose. I may give it a try. It'll be so much easier to transport!

Gardner is good. It's a big change and I'm lonely, but adjusting. If you're ever up this way, let me know!

I am a lipstick whore! I am unaware if a support group has been formed for this addiction.
